ABOUT...
Michael Rien is a Canadian composer, known for his music scores in psychological, supernatural, and thriller genres. He recently scored a Short ON THE WHIMS OF VALKYERIES by Heston L'Abbé, which screened at the "Fantasia International Film Festival 2024".
Michael's scoring credits include three Features, SCHEMER, SANS PRAN SOUF and L'OBSESSION. Additionally scoring countless Shorts including, MIA'S SECRET, ON THE WHIMS OF VALKYERIES, DEPRESSED and SCARLETT SMOKE.
Classically and Jazz-trained, Michael has recorded, composed, and arranged for artists, opera singer Cantor Sharon Azrieli (Juilliard, University of Montreal), bassist/songwriter Matt Lipscombe (Me Mom and Morgentaler), singer/songwriter Leesa Mackey (Tamashi, Bent Buiding Productions, JUNO-award winning producer Joseph Donovan - Mountain City Studios), Tamashi (Dave Traina - The Damn Truth, Freq Shop), Special Ops (Metal producer Jeff Nystrom - Metalworks, RCA Victor Studios), OrgYpOp (Itsik Romano), Mona Lissa Chanda (JUNO-award winning producer Robert Heaney - Studio Fast Forward Inc.), Ninth9State (Unicorn Digital), and Philip Faith (Hotel Noir, Sexsomnia - Manic Depression Records).
